HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The Dirty Birds went full Nelson.

James Nelson belted a two-run tiebreaking home run in the top of the 11th inning and Charleston held on for a 2-1 win at High Point on Thursday night at Truist Point.

Nelson’s long ball scored international tiebreaker runner Demetrius Moorer.

Max Viera came home in the bottom of the inning to cut the margin to one, but that was as close as the Rockers came.

Nelson was 2 for 5 for the Dirty Birds (19-17). Joe Record, the fourth of five Charleston pitchers, got the decision with a scoreless ninth inning in relief of Kyle McGowin, who allowed two hits in six frames. Eddy Demurias picked up a save.

Braeden Ogle took the loss for High Point (26-10).
