BEDFORD - Alex Santora did all he could to continue his baseball career at Winnacunnet High School for at least one more game.

The senior shortstop had three hits, and scored the game-tying run in the fourth inning of Thursday's Division I first-round game at No. 7 Bedford.

However, no play was more important than the one Santora pulled off in the bottom of the seventh as the Warriors held a 3-1 lead with two outs and the bases full of Bulldogs.

Sophomore right-hander Justin Coates delivered a pitch to Jason Topf, Bedford's No. 2 hitter. Topf hit a hard groundball back through the box and the ball appeared to be heading into center field for at least two runs.
