LACEYVILLE, Pa. — The chairs are up on the tables at Wiser Choice Restaurant along Main Street in Laceyville.
The popular Luzerne County spot is usually open seven-days-a week but was forced to close early Wednesday and stay shuttered Thursday because of a leak in the borough's municipal water system.
“We closed because the water got brown so and we can't use that, so we closed for the safety of the community,” Restaurant owner Rex Gregory said. “And to let them, you know, give time to fix the leak.”
Community members walked up to their usual lunch spot only to be met with a closed sign.
People tell Newswatch 16 this isn't the first time homes and businesses in Laceyville have been without water.
“Yeah, there's a lot of leaks and a lot of old pipes they have to get fixed,” Gregory s
