CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The single road in the Walnut Acres neighborhood is now empty. Neighbors can easily get to their homes now after nearly a week of investigators crowding the road, gathering evidence.
While the scene is clear, two suspects remain on the loose, leaving some neighbors still uneasy.
"I heard the gunshots. I looked at the dogs cause the dogs sleep with us. So they popped their heads up too. I came out, grabbed my weapon, got up and continued to hear shots."
