Boston Police brought in extra officers from across the city and State Police brought in their helicopter to try to quell groups of rowdy people congregating at Carson Beach and Moakley Park tonight.

Boston Police from C-6 in South Boston first responded to reports of possible incidents at Moakley Park around 8:20 p.m., with help from troopers coming over from the beach.

But as people in the park began swarming over to the beach, a call went out for additional help from every district in the city; officers from as far away as Hyde Park responded.

Around 9:05 p.m., the call went out to just shut the beach and get people to move along.

At least two teens were detained.
