INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Ascension St. Vincent on Thursday celebrated the opening of its Women and Infants Hospital, marking what’s being touted as a significant expansion in pediatric emergency care in Indiana.
The hospital boasts one of the state’s largest pediatric emergency departments as part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its health care.
The Care for Tomorrow campaign raised over $48 million to support the establishment of the new hospital.
Julia Schnieders, vice president for women and pediatric services at Ascension St. Vincent, said to the crowd at the opening celebration, “You couldn’t do it without the supporters in the community, and people were so kind and receptive and thoughtful when we started this campaign, and I just can’t say a big enough thank you.”
