WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., on Thursday asked the secretary of the Army for a commitment to "expand and modernize" the Pine Bluff Arsenal and other facilities making up the U.S. Army's organic industrial base, hoping such an investment could be part of the military branch's broader campaign to boost its warfighting capabilities. Daniel Driscoll did not make any promises, rather telling Cotton that there is a willingness to study whether Army installations should receive additional federal funds.
