LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The recent release of home valuation numbers by the Lancaster County Assessor’s Office has some property owners feeling dispirited.
This year, 112,000 owners are seeing changes out of the 123,000 properties in Lancaster County.
Those who are looking to contest the home valuation numbers have until the end of June to write a protest. Once that deadline passes, the numbers can not change.
While disgruntled Lancaster County landowners spend the remaining part of June looking to dispute their home’s value, it’s a process that County Assessor Dan Nolte and his team have been working on non-stop.
“It’s a year-round endeavor,” Nolte said. “They are out in the field doing inspections and so forth, building models, looking at sales.”
