LUMBERTON, Texas — The Gift of Life organization is launching a summer-long initiative to provide free medical screenings for men in Southeast Texas, beginning this Saturday in Lumberton. The screenings aim to connect uninsured men to lifesaving health care services as part of Men's Health Awareness Month.

The first event will be held at 9 a.m. at the Lumberton Performing Arts Center, where organizers hope to serve at least 200 men. The program includes a variety of non-invasive tests, valued at approximately $500 per person, all offered at no cost.

“Our tests are free, and actually their value is about 500 dollars worth of non-invasive testing that we will do free of charge,” said Dr. Gwendolyn Lavalais, a spokesperson for the Gift of Life.
