California Gov. Gavin Newsom reportedly met with White House Hollywood ambassador Jon Voight on Thursday and “expressed interest in working with” President Donald Trump on revitalizing the California film industry.

According to a report published by Politico senior reporter Melanie Mason , Newsom and Voight met in Los Angeles on Thursday for a private meeting “to discuss their shared interest in boosting the state’s iconic industry, which has increasingly moved its operations to other states and overseas.”
