RADFORD, Va. (WSET) — Radford City Council appointed a new city manager Thursday during its special meeting.

Todd Meredith will begin his role with the city on July 21. Before working in local government, Meredith spent a decade working as a public school teacher, and since 2017, he has served as the town manager of Pearisburg.

"Mr. Meredith brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise, particularly in the areas of finance, data analysis, and government transparency," the council wrote in a statement. "These qualities, among many others, make him exceptionally well-suited to help guide and enhance our city."
