MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WEHT) -- Job Corp Centers around the country are celebrating a small victory after months of fighting to stay open.

Earl C. Clements Job Corp Center Director Jessa Gough says it's been a whirlwind. Yesterday she said staff members were handed termination letters days after the U.S. Department of Labor announced plans to eliminate Job Corp operations nationwide.

Less than 20 minutes later staff learned that a federal judge ruled to block the plans and prevent the Trump administration from closing Job Corps Centers.

President Trump's decision was based on an internal review and transparency report saying it has been a failed experiment to help America's youth and calls it financially unsustainable.
