After starting the 2025 WNBA season 2-1, Kate Martin and the Golden State Valkyries have dropped three straight, falling to 2-4.
Martin spent her rookie season (2024) with the Las Vegas Aces, earning a significant role early on with numerous injuries. But she joined the Valkyries for their inaugural season after getting selected in the expansion draft.
Martin struggled in her first three games with Golden State, totaling just eight points. However, in the two games leading up to Thursday's matchup against the Phoenix Mercury, she showed improvement, averaging 12.0 points and recording a career-high 14 in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
