CATAWBA CO., – The names and charges are piling up in the Catawba County house party mass shooting investigation. Detectives have so far named eight people they say are connected to the deadly event. Those people face charges ranging from attempted murder to accessory after the fact to promoting underage drinking. One man died and 11 people were hurt early Sunday morning when gunfire erupted at the house party.
20-year-old Garon Killian stood quietly in court Thursday as he learned he will not get the chance to make bond, after all. On Wednesday, a judge set bond for the young man accused of attempted murder at the house party in Catawba County. On Thursday, prosecutors told a different judge that Killian is a “clear and present threat” an “admitted gang member” and “violent.”
