DULUTH — The Duluth Huskies offense caught fire in the late innings and pulled away for a 10-6 Northwoods League win over the La Crosse Loggers on Thursday at Wade Stadium, busting the club's four-game losing streak.
Duluth was down 2-1 going to the bottom of the fifth but evened it up on Noah Furcht's RBI single. The Huskies then took control of the game in the bottom of the sixth, taking advantage of two hits, an error, three walks and a sacrifice fly.
The Loggers trimmed the lead to 6-5 in the top of the seventh, but after a pitching change, managed to get out of the inning before giving up the tying run. Duluth then tacked on four insurance runs over the next two frames for their first win since Saturday.
