DULUTH, Minn. (Northern News Now) - After a months-long study of two busy, and seemingly dangerous intersections near a Duluth school, county leaders offer a recommendation and share their next steps.
St. Louis County teams have been studying Rice Lake Road at Barnes Road and West Arrowhead Road at Madison Avenue near Lowell Elementary.
A crash involving a school bus and a car outside the school about a year ago prompted conversations about safety and traffic flow there .
Thursday night county leaders shared their studies after looking at many options for the area.
The county recommended a “continuous T” plan at Rice Lake Road at Barnes Road.
It would include a center concrete median allowing southbound left turns to have dedicated lanes and westbound left turns exiting Barnes Road
