If you live in North Bakersfield, Lost Hills, Delano, or Wasco, by the end of the month, you might spot several white electric cars driving around, as part of California's new phase of utilizing mobile technology to address air quality concerns.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has initiated a program that deploys 42 electric Aclima cars through 64 California communities.

The vehicles suck up air and analyze it in an instant.

Edie Chang, Deputy Executive Officer for Planning Freight and Toxics for CARB, elaborated. "These are vehicles that drive around on the streets, and what they do is they can detect pollution, kind of on a block by block basis. So, you're really getting the pollution and the air quality at the street level where people live."
