BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Organizers hope to break ground by the first of the year or sooner on construction of a first-of-its-kind community for families living with disability. The commitment of Quiet Waters is to build a year-round center for retreats, respite, and restoration. The ministry also hopes to have land for private residences for those touched by disability, as well as those who serve those with disabilities.

Martie Kwasny is Executive Director of Quiet Waters and says, "Quiet Waters was born out of a family retreat that was started about ten years ago. Just seeing the body come together with families touched by disability and those that are disability friendly, just serving one another and having to wait 51 weeks for one week of rest, that was just not enough," h
