Bourne–Wareham Race Amity has announced this year’s guest speaker for Race Amity Day is Dr. Vanessa Britto, a nationally recognized leader in medicine, higher education and health equity. The event is being held on Sunday , June 8, at Buzzards Bay Park Pavilion on Main Street from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The event will feature music, food and a proclamation issued by members of the Town of Bourne Select Board.

Race Amity Day was officially recognized in Massachusetts on December 29, 2015, when Governor Charlie Baker signed House Bill 2745 into law, establishing the second Sunday in June as "Massachusetts Race Amity Day." It is celebrated as a day to honor cross cultural and cross racial friendship, understanding and collaboration.
