Over Memorial Day weekend, the Cataumet community was brought together to honor both the legacy of the Cataumet Club and the 250th anniversary of American Independence. After a recent renovation, the Cataumet Club’s flag pole cracked lengthwise. The community worked together to install the flag pole on town-owned property at the intersection of Mystery Lane and Squeteague Harbor Road.

A Flag Raising Committee was led by Mark Hutker alongside his wife, Carla Hutker. Hutker donated the flagpole and managed the installation; committee co-captain Chris Klint was a part of the installation team, and personally dug the six-foot hole for the flagpole.
