OKLAHOMA CITY — NiJaree Canady took to the circle again Thursday night and once again delivered when the Texas Tech softball team needed her to the most.
Canady again pitched the complete-game effort and limited the Longhorns' offense, helping lead the Red Raiders to a 4-3 win in Game 2 of the championship series of the 2025 Women's College World Series.
The only blemish for Canady's night of pitching was a solo home run from Mia Scott in the top of the sixth inning, which made it a 2-1 game. The Red Raiders went on to add a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning to add some extra insurance.
Texas got a couple of runs in the top of the seventh thanks to an error and a hit by pitch, plating the tying run at third with two outs, but Canady saved her best for last, hitting over 70 mi
