OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Human trafficking is a problem that is always highlighted during major events, particularly the College World Series.

The Set Me Free Project , a local nonprofit, held a panel discussion Thursday about ways to stay vigilant and raise awareness.

CEO Stephanie Olson said while it’s important to focus on the issue of human trafficking during events such as the College World Series, it’s a problem that persists year-round.

In all of last year, 91 victims were identified as being involved in human trafficking in Nebraska according to the National Human Trafficking Hotline . Olson stressed the number only reflects reported cases.
