LINCOLN, Neb. —

June is National Dairy Month, and to celebrate, kids got milk and their favorite ice cream bars all because of the hard work of our farmers.

"These farmers are so dedicated to taking good care of their animals, so that they can provide the best tasting, safest milk and ice cream and better food every day," said the director of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture Sherry Vinton.

Each year the dairy industry pumps $5.8 billion into the state's economy.
