Santa Fe police still have not filed charges in connection with a crash early Sunday in which officers believe both drivers were intoxicated.

Five people were injured in the crash near the intersection of Rufina Street and Richards Avenue police said. The two drivers and three passengers were all taken to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Four of the people admitted to the hospital were released, but one person remained in the intensive care unit Thursday, Deputy Chief Ben Valdez wrote in an email.

Both vehicles had "severe damage" and both drivers were suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol, Santa Fe police Lt. Roberto Rodriguez said Sunday.

Valdez said Thursday the crash remained under investigation.
