(KRON) -- Two 13-year-old boys are in custody for allegedly yelling homophobic slurs while throwing fireworks into a crowd at a Pride event that injured two adults, said the Redwood City Police Department.
RCPD said the incident happened on Wednesday at the annual Pride event at Courthouse Square in downtown Redwood City. Police said they arrived at the location at 5:55 p.m., but both suspects had already fled the area.
One of the two victims suffered minor injuries. Redwood City PD said a portion of the attack was captured on surveillance video.
Both teenage suspects were released to the custody of the San Mateo County Youth Services Center.
Despite the arrests, the case remains active. Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to call the Redwood City Police Department at
