TOLEDO, Ohio — A woman pulled from the Maumee River overnight Friday by first responders after being underwater for nearly an hour and a half has died, according to Toledo police.
Latisha Dixon, 38, was pulled from the water by the docks near International Park around 1 a.m. and pronounced dead, according to police.
According to Toledo fire, the woman was swimming in the river with three other people behind the restaurants at The Docks. She began to struggle, though, and a man who was swimming with the group tried to help but said he lost sight of her. She was pulled from the river in the exact area where she was last seen.
