HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Marianna Tapiz spent her 28th birthday in court as she waited to see how long Dewayne Johnson would be locked up for killing her sister, and his wife, 19-year-old Mischa Johnson.

Johnson, 29, was sentenced Thursday to the highest possible sentence of 23 years in prison for killing Mischa, who was pregnant with his child.

His sentence also includes a reduction in rank to E-1, total forfeitures of pay and allowances, and a dishonorable discharge at the conclusion of the court-martial.

“I can’t speak for my family but in terms of myself, I understand with the body missing, this case was already hard,” Tapiz said.
