A man accused of assaulting a disabled person in southwest Bakersfield in March 2023 was sentenced to two years in prison on Thursday.

In March 2023, Isaac Figueroa was at a convenience store on Ming Avenue, just west of Ashe Road, when he was caught on camera kicking a developmentally disabled adult outside the business.

Figueroa drove away before police arrived but was arrested about a month later.

He was charged with assault with force causing great bodily injury. He pleaded no contest back in March.

Figueroa, now 47, pleaded no contest in March. Thursday, a Kern County judge sentenced him to two years in prison.

He was credited with five days served and will serve his sentence at the Wasco State
