TROUTDALE Ore. (KPTV) - A trio of self-proclaimed ‘old guys’ are on a cross-country journey for two very good causes.
70-year-old Don Coffey and his longtime friend, 69-year-old Larry Gerbick, have been riding their bicycles 50 miles a day for the past 66 days to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Cancer Society.
Don’s cousin Jim is driving their support van.
They left Tampa, Florida, on April 1 and are going all the way to Tacoma.
FOX 12 caught up with them Thursday in Troutdale.
This is Don’s third cross-country ride in the last six years, but his first time raising money for Wounded Warriors.
It is a cause he and his wife have supported for years.
“Our oldest boy was an army ranger for several years, and although he never got hurt in combat, some of his
