PRIEST RIVER — A Spokane Valley man was flown to a local hospital by air ambulance after being injured in a single-vehicle crash near milepost 7 on U.S. 2 near Priest River on Thursday afternoon.

Idaho State Police said the crash, which occurred at 3:57 p.m., happened when a white 2024 Isuzu box truck driven by a 45-year-old man from Spokane Valley was westbound on the highway outside of Priest River. The vehicle failed to maintain its lane and drifted off the roadway. The truck then crashed into an embankment, causing it to overturn, and came to rest after striking a power pole, ISP troopers said in a press release.

The driver, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported to a local hospital by air ambulance for treatment.
