Tim Clausen, NV Energy’s vice president of regulatory affairs, faced a room full of angry customers Wednesday night at a consumer session of the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada.
The utility had overcharged 60,000 customers $17 million over seven years by wrongly classifying multifamily residences as single-family homes, according to a PUCN staff investigation earlier this year.
Another 20,000 customers were also overcharged for an undisclosed amount. Only $2 million has been refunded in those instance.
