COLCHESTER, Vt. (WCAX) - The St. Michael’s campus buzzes with life on Friday as Vermont Special Olympics athletes compete in the summer games.
There are two events this weekend: bocce and basketball. Both events start at 9 Saturday morning and the public is welcome to cheer on athletes.
The opening ceremonies are on Friday night, ahead of the competition on Saturday.
Before it begins, law enforcement around our region are showing their support.
On Thursday, South Burlington police completed a torch run, and on Friday, Colchester Police are lacing up their sneakers.
If you drive on College Parkway Friday afternoon, westbound travel on College Parkway will be down to one lane for the final leg of the Special Olympics Vermont torch run.
