Advocates of a pilot program, exclusive to North Carolina, that provides supplemental, non-medical services to Medicaid recipients were in Raleigh June 4, calling on state legislators to fund the program.

Around 150 advocates including members of participating organizations, Medicaid recipients, doctors and concerned citizens were in Raleigh to lobby for funding, one attendee told the Times-News.

Proposed budgets in the North Carolina House and Senate for fiscal years 2025-2027 don’t include money for North Carolina’s Healthy Opportunities Pilots program, according to a June 2 statement on the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services’ website.
