Final preparations are underway for the 69th edition of the Brandon Travellers’ Day Parade happening this Saturday.

With around 65 entries of floats, bands, old-fashioned cars and clowns, organizer Norm Joss said everyone is “excited for Saturday.”

Joss said parade participants are coming from as far away as Dugald and Winnipeg, and that everyone is keeping an eye on the weather.

There is a 40 per cent chance of rain on Saturday, Environment Canada said Thursday.

Joss said since the parade started in 1955, it has never been rained out, and that “it’ll have to be a downpour” for the event to be called off. He added that thundershowers would also cancel the event for safety reasons.
