NORCROSS, Ga. — A Norcross woman is celebrating a life-changing win after scoring a $2 million prize from a Massachusetts Lottery game — and it all started with a gift from her dad.

Vanesa Menjivar Acosta, a Georgia resident, was announced as the first $2 million winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s new “$25,000,000 Mega Money” instant ticket game. The ticket was bought in East Boston and given to her as a gift, according to lottery officials.

Menjivar Acosta chose the lump sum cash option and received $1.3 million before taxes.
