Nouvel Catholic Central is returning to the state semifinals.

The Panthers shut out Midland Calvary Baptist, 7-0, to claim a Division 4 girls soccer regional Thursday at Clare.

Nouvel takes a 16-5-1 record into the Division 4 semifinals against Kalamazoo Christian at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Big Rapids.

It’s Nouvel’s first trip to the semifinals since 2019, when it lost to Royal Oak Shrine.

Nouvel took a 3-0 halftime lead Thursday before rolling to the 7-0 win.

Kelsey Berthiaume scored four goals to lead the Panthers, while Claire Long added two goals and Ava Schroeder one.

Berthiaume, Long, Sydney Leslie and Lily Collison earned assists for the Panthers, who finished the season ranked seventh in the state in Division 4.
