Leander Animal Services rescued a fawn that fell into a storm drain on Thursday.

Leander police received a call from a distraught delivery driver on Thursday saying he had seen a mother doe cross the road, followed by her fawn. As the fawn ran after its mother, it stumbled and fell into a storm drain.

The driver was able to provide the exact location of where the fawn fell in, and Leander Animal Services responded to the scene.

Leander Animal Services removed the storm drain cover, and an animal services officer crawled in and rescued the baby animal.
