GAFFNEY, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Cherokee County Coroner’s Office said two people were killed in two separate crashes on Thursday near Gaffney.
The coroner said the first crash took place on Concord Road after 49-year-old Kelvin Bernard Fernanders ran off the left side of the road, hit a ditch and overturned around 5:29 p.m. He was trapped in his pickup truck and died at the scene.
Officials said the second crash happened around 6:14 p.m. at the intersection of S.C. Highway 150 North and Grassy Pond Road. 77-year-old Linda Tate Greene of Boiling Springs was a front seat passenger of a 2013 Ford being driven by her husband.
According to the coroner, the driver pulled into the path of a pickup truck heading south on S.C. 150 and Mrs. Greene was taken to the hospital where she passed.
