GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - As many schools celebrate the end of the school year and all of their accomplishments, there are concerns about students forgetting what they learned over summer break.
A recent Brookings Institution study found that as students return to the classroom after summer break from year to year, their academic achievement levels are lower than what they were at the beginning of Summer break.
It’s a phenomenon sometimes referred to as summer learning loss, summer setback, or summer slide.
