DETROIT LAKES — As Clarity Wine Bar owner Chelsey Malstrom put it in the Facebook post announcing the imminent opening of her new business in Detroit Lakes: "Wine not get excited?"
After all, a wine bar is one of the few things that's been lacking in the town's resume of attractions to offer visitors and prospective residents — as stressed by Malstrom in her first-place-winning pitch for Pitch 412, local nonprofit Project 412's annual entrepreneurship competition.
"That got me a lot of exposure," Malstrom said of the live pitch portion of the competition, held on May 6 at the Historic Holmes Theatre — not to mention the $4,000 cash prize that came with the win.
