Police shot and killed a man who stabbed an officer in Pittsburgh's Brighton Heights neighborhood on Friday morning, authorities said.

The man was killed in the police shooting around 6 a.m. on Friday after officers were called to a home on Carpenter Lane for a domestic disturbance, authorities said

According to the Allegheny County Police Department, just before 4 a.m., officers with the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police were called to Carpenter Lane for a domestic disturbance, and one of the people involved was taken to court to file an emergency protection-from-abuse order.
