My yard and garden are very small so using pots for gardening is a must. Whether it's flowers or vegetables , I am always looking for ways to grow more plants—enter the unglazed terra-cotta pot. Not only are terra-cotta pots affordable, but the warm reddish color nicely contrasts with plants.

However, terra-cotta pots do have one downside! Because they are so porous, the soil dries out quickly in hot weather (from May to October in Birmingham, Alabama, where I live), forcing me to water every day, if not twice a day.
