PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - Governor Josh Stein will be in Pasquotank County today to promote safe gun storage during the third annual NC S.A.F.E. Week of Action.

Stein will be joined by Deputy Secretary William Lassiter, Elizabeth City Police Chief Eddie Graham Jr., and gun safety advocates to talk about gun safety measures at Pasquotank High School at 11 a.m.

Stein and state leaders will be presenting gun locks during their visit.

The visit is part of the state’s initiative to raise awareness of the importance of safe gun storage.

The initiative has given out more than 100,000 gun locks and hundreds of gun safes across the state while also promoting the importance of safe firearm storage through community partnerships and events.
