NEW CASTLE, Del. (WPVI) -- Police have identified the man who was shot and killed on Thursday night in New Castle, Delaware.
The shooting happened just before 9:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Ryan Avenue.
Officers arrived on the scene to find 19-year-old Tahjir Pipkin of New Castle with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.
He was rushed to Christiana Hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, Pipkin was later pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Unit are now handling the investigation.
Police say they are aware that a gathering was taking place in the parking lot of Rose Hill Park at the time of the shooting, with numerous people in attendance.
