NEW MEXICO (KRQE) - Muggy conditions are still present in wake of yesterday's strong thunderstorms in East New Mexico with lingering rainfall across Northeast New Mexico, as well as parts of the Four Corners, with somewhat-gusty winds. Near-freezing temperatures are confined to the higher peaks of the Northern Mountains, while elsewhere is mostly starting off in the upper 40s, 50s, and 60s.
Somewhat-persistent upper-level westerly winds with less moisture, along with a slight nudge in the jet stream to the north with a high pressure system building to the south, will combine with the daytime heating, as well as with the lingering low-level moisture, to produce less storms in the mountains to East New Mexico today.
