MOLINE, Ill. (KWQC) - Crews were on-scene in a Moline neighborhood to repair a natural gas leak.
Thursday, the Moline Fire Department went to the area of 53rd Street and 7th Avenue for a natural gas leak after a construction company accidentally struck a gas line while working in the area, according to a media release from the Moline Fire Department. As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated to ensure the safety of residents.
No injuries have been reported, according to officials. Emergency crews got to the area and worked with the utility company to secure the area and monitor for hazards.
Officials said as of 6 p.m. the leak has been mitigated.
