A work-release prisoner in Tangipahoa Parish was caught early Friday morning after he reportedly walked off a job site hours earlier, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff's Office released a photo of Donald Ray Wilson, 42, in the custody of deputies at about 1:30 a.m.
Wilson, who is from the Tickfaw area, is in jail for a parole violation for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon.
Wilson was seen leaving his job site in the 51000 block of U.S. 51 in Tickfaw after noon Thursday, authorities said. Wearing gray sweat pants, Nike shoes, and a black and gray jacket, he was spotted heading north on foot.
Wilson is in a program that allows Department of Corrections inmates to work outside of the jail.
