Ijust put a down payment on my final home.

I have no idea when I’m moving in. My hope is decades from now, since it’s where I will be spending eternity.

When my marriage ended, I was left with so many details to sort out. The “til death do us part” ended before we died, so I’m flying solo to figure out my final resting place.

We always talked about buying cemetery plots but never did. Should we end up in the Jewish cemetery where his mother is buried? Should we pick a plot at Lake View Cemetery where I love to wander? Since we’re now living separate lives, we can die our separate ways.

Why pick a plot now?

In the last three months, three of my daughter’s friends have lost their parents. Their mothers were my age or close to it.
