CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. — Authorities believe Travis Decker, the man suspected of killing his three daughters in Chelan County, may be traveling along the Pacific Crest Trail as a multi-county manhunt enters its fourth day.
Park officials closed a wide swath of hiking trails in the Lake Chelan National Recreation Area within the Cascade Range late Thursday as law enforcement intensified its search. Earlier Thursday, officials closed the popular network of hiking trails known as the Enchantments.
Okanogan County Emergency Management said Thursday that “new leads and critical information” have led investigators to focus search efforts in west Okanogan County and along the popular hiking route, which runs from the Canadian border to Mexico and through several remote areas in Washington state.
