The union representing 55,000 postal workers announced it has filed an unfair labour practice complaint against Canada Post, alleging the employer knowingly interfered with the union’s exclusive collective bargaining rights.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers also alleges Canada Post tried to discredit the union by providing offers and information directly to union members without first providing relevant documents to CUPW.

Meanwhile, in a statement to the Toronto Star Thursday afternoon, CUPW said it has resuming bargaining at the request of federal Jobs minister Patty Hajdu.
